The Top Five Reasons Quelf is the Zaniest Board-Game
- I had to wear a makeshift scuba mask until the game ended!
- My wife had to wear an aluminum foil glove and keep her thumbs in her mouth when she wasn't speaking.
- When she was speaking, she had to touch her shoulders.

What Makes Quelf Fun and Zany?
"Random has a new name."
If party board games are judged by the fun and laughter they incite, then Quelf takes first prize! (In fact, it was UpBeat News Syndicate's 2005 Board Game of the YearQuelf exists to be played -- not won. It is a beautiful existence, indeed.
Its makers -- Wiggity Bang Games -- dub Quelf "insanity in a box
Let's be clear. Quelf has a board, a timer, a die, a beginning, and an end -- but it is no standard board game.
Each turn brings something unexpected -- quirky rules, talking from your belly-button, yodeling with your finger pushed up your nose until you roll a deuce with the die three times!
In the land of Quelf, game pieces represent characters -- a biscuit farmer (essential to a truly random board game, right?), or Mrs. Pickle Feather, for example. The game is inspired fun making!

- Hi Writertiff,
I have only played it with adults. I think it would definitely work for "tweens" and older, but not the typical 8 year-old.
FWIW, some of the cards are long on content. Of course, some 8 year-olds are pretty with it.
The makers of Quelf give the age range of 12 & up.

- Is this a good game for families with kids aged 8-15? Or is it more for grown-ups? Looks like if it's okay for kids, mine would love it!
